Fall Festival 2008 - Guess their Weight contest results Thanks to all who came out to the Festival on October 18. We enjoyed hayrides, cider, pumpkin-decorating, bargains and balloons, all on a perfect, crisp, bright day. The results of our contest—guessing the individual and combined weight of Nibbles and Rosebud, our Nubian goats—are as follows. By the way, Nibbles and Rosebud are still growing! They are 19 months old, and will keep growing until they are about two years old. 2007 Name the Kids contest results Thanks to the enthusiasm of our customers, who submitted over 500 entries, our kids have names! Our judges were delighted by the entrants' creativity. The brown goat is now known as Nibbles, and the black goat is Rosebud (the blaze on her forehead looks a little like a rosebud). Congratulations to our contest winners, who received Russell's gift certificates. Thank you, from Russell’s to the entire community, who participated in naming our new goats. All entries were reviewed by a committee made up of Russell’s family members and employees. All entries were independent submissions; Russell’s employees and their families were not eligible to enter the contest. Goats, Cows...they're all Ruminants! Russell's Teams Up With Heifer International Now that our playful little friends have names, they will be mascots and ambassadors for Russells' summer project to benefit Heifer International. More details will be available soon on our website. Come and Visit You can visit the Nibbles and Rosebud at the west end of the Perennial yard during store hours. These two female goat kids were born in March, 2007. Rosebud is two days older than Nibbles. They are gentle and they like to climb on the blocks in their pen, and watch the people watching them!
