About Russell's

Established in 1876, Russell’s Garden Center is truly a unique place. Originally a farm market, Russell’s added a wholesale business delivering vegetables and flowers to Boston’s Haymarket Square. Today, Russell’s has grown into a 5th generation, family owned retail business, and continues to be one of the largest, single location garden centers in New England. We also host the Wayland Farmers’ Market in the summer and winter months.

In the Spring, our outdoor yards are filled with  a large assortment of Perennials, Shrubs, Roses, Herbs, Annuals, and Vegetable Plants. Autumn brings Mums, Pumpkins, Gourds, Halloween and Fall decor. At Christmas, walk amongst thousands of Christmas Trees, Decorative Greens, and Wreaths. Inside, you’ll find many shops including Garden, Plant, Gift, Toy, Flower, Houseplant, Candle, and Bird, as well as, Seasonal Christmas decor and poinsettias.

Many of our knowledgeable employees have worked at Russell’s for decades. They enjoy sharing their expertise and helping you create beautiful living spaces both inside and outside your home.

Open 358 days a year, people travel for miles to visit Russell’s greenhouses, outdoor yards, and many unique shops.

Lewis Russell Jr

(1931 - 2019)

"Lewis was born and raised on the land where he lived and worked, forging his ground in the rich soil of the Sudbury River region of Wayland. He dedicated his life to growing plants and expanding Russell’s Garden Center, a business his grandfather started in 1876. Lewis grew Russell’s from a wholesale plant business into the retail store that we know and love today, serving the greater community."
