Our vegetable growers at Russell's widen our selection each year to accommodate for the ever changing interest in local and sustainable food production. We offer certified organics, heirlooms, and conventional varieties to bring diversity to your garden. The Russell's Veggie Team is here to help with any questions or concerns and to assist you with selecting just the right plants for your garden.

Selections of fresh herb plants are available year-round at Russell's, but the widest variety of herbs are available in the spring and summer months. For more information about specific herbs ask our friendly staff. We will advise you about growing and using the fresh herbs that you find at Russell's.

The Garlic Is HERE!!
Garlic should be planted as late as possible before the ground freezes. (Mid-late October) The bulbs will need to be wintered over in the ground until they are ready for harvest in late June/early July. Garlic bulbs are available in our Plant Shop. Scroll down to watch our Fall Garlic Planting video featured below. For information on seed and garlic availability dial ext. 400.

As you start to put your veggie gardens to bed for the winter, consider adding Winter Rye cover crop seeds down. Primarily grown for its ability to replenish poor soils with vital nitrogen, Winter Rye roots are also know to breakup heavy, compact, and clay-heavy soils. It can also be tilled right back into the soil as a green fertilizer. Winter Rye seed is available in our Garden Shop ext. 410.

" I have bought my veggies and most plants at Russells for years. They are hands down the best in the area. This year I worked with Tracie and she was fantastic. She helped me plan a terrific raised bed garden. "
