Our vegetable growers at Russell's widen our selection each year to accommodate for the ever changing interest in local and sustainable food production. We offer certified organics, heirlooms, and conventional varieties to bring diversity to your garden. The Russell's Veggie Team is here to help with any questions or concerns and to assist you with selecting just the right plants for your garden.
Selections of fresh herb plants are available year-round at Russell's, but the widest variety of herbs are available in the spring and summer months. For more information about specific herbs ask our friendly staff. We will advise you about growing and using the fresh herbs that you find at Russell's.

We are STILL sowin' & growin'
At this point in the Summer season "Veggie Land" takes a little vacation, but our team is still working behind the scenes to keep a limited availability of vegetable plants on hand. These plants can now be found in our Annual Yard, to the right, once you enter from our East/Potting Shed entrance at the rear of the store. Herbs have also relocated for the remainder of the season. You can now find a selection of fresh herb plants in our Annuas Yard positioned half way between the two cashier stations at the back exterior of the store.
July is a great month for succession planting and re-seeding spaces that you may have harvested earlier crops from. Choose early maturing varieties of beans (usually bush), cucumbers, summer squash and zucchini. You can also keep sowing Carrot seeds every 4 weeks until 10 weeks before your last frost date, (late July/early August) and you can sow Beets until 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. (mid-late July)
We are also preparing for the next planting wave which will be coming in August once temperatures lower and regulate. Fall is a fantastic time to plant a second crop. Cool Weather Veggies and Cole crops extend and increase your harvest and also help your garden by enhancing soil structure, increasing organic matter, and suppressing weeds. Click below to see our Late Summer Selections List. (Please note this list is subject to change and available only while supplies last)

" I have bought my veggies and most plants at Russells for years. They are hands down the best in the area. This year I worked with Tracie and she was fantastic. She helped me plan a terrific raised bed garden. "
